Lessons:
There is a great beginners lesson program at the Woodland Stallion Station taught by Susan McCaffrey.
Advanced
lessons including over fences and dressage taught by Susan
Garmier.
Susan is a
licensed USDF judge and has trained through Intermediate,
winning multiple championships at the Morgan World Championships
through FEI . Morgan hunters and jumpers that she has
shown and trained have also won multiple titles both at the
Morgan Regionals and World Championships
Lessons are taught in English tack, and emphasize horsemanship skills and safety. Students learn basic riding skills and develop a balanced seat on the flat, over fences, and on the trail.
All ages of students are welcome and horses can be provided. Please call for rates.
LEASES AND SALES:
Woodland
Stallion Station has horses for lease to fit the needs of
both inexperienced and advanced riders. A course of
lessons is required to fit the rider to the horse, but
after the rider is competent, there is no further lesson
requirement.
The
trainers at the Station handle sales horses as well,
trying to fit the horse to the buyer. Owner, Ann Taylor,
raises Morgans and Morgan Thoroughbred crosses and
there are always some available for sale.
